Hello,
I am also using vmware for my installs. I only have one physical
machine at the moment.
What i did was downloaded the latest gentoo mini iso, then remastered
it to start sshd and activate a serial console on boot. I then
connected to that via pipe, and started the install to vm image. After
bringing up virtual networking i was then able to complete the install
via ssh connection. As for the install itself i followed the gentoo
handbook i read the beginner one for the overview and the software
raid one for the actual install, and followed them. After the install
i read and followed the gnome book and that's where i'm at now. I get
no keyboard at the gnome login screen, although text console access
works fine. I've got speakup going with software speech and have also
tried yasr with espeakup and festival, all of that is working.
Hth
Dave.
