Hello, |
2 |
I am also using vmware for my installs. I only have one physical |
3 |
machine at the moment. |
4 |
What i did was downloaded the latest gentoo mini iso, then remastered |
5 |
it to start sshd and activate a serial console on boot. I then |
6 |
connected to that via pipe, and started the install to vm image. After |
7 |
bringing up virtual networking i was then able to complete the install |
8 |
via ssh connection. As for the install itself i followed the gentoo |
9 |
handbook i read the beginner one for the overview and the software |
10 |
raid one for the actual install, and followed them. After the install |
11 |
i read and followed the gnome book and that's where i'm at now. I get |
12 |
no keyboard at the gnome login screen, although text console access |
13 |
works fine. I've got speakup going with software speech and have also |
14 |
tried yasr with espeakup and festival, all of that is working. |
15 |
Hth |
16 |
Dave. |
