If you are trying to install realplayer specifically, be aware that it has security vulnerabilities and has been hard masked. For information on that see this bug: http://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=40469 If you are still intrested in installing this, you will have to unmask it with /etc/portage/package.unmask.
