Hi John,
You should have better luck with the dual arch dvd under
http://distfiles.gentoo.org/releases/x86/10.0.
To boot this dvd in 64 bit mode, use gentoo64 instead of gentoo on the
boot command line. Otherwise all of the parameters are the same.
