Works for me... Try seeking help from the MySQL folks or the forums.

I'm sure it'll be up soon, but feel free to file "I want the new
version" bugs at http://bugs.gentoo.org ... I have too many packages to
maintain to keep a close eye on releases from all of them, so I
appreciate when someone pings me about it.
