Hi guys,

I mentioned before that we're in the process of putting together a
Gentoo accessibility project. The project page is more or less finished,
and you can see it here:
'http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/accessibility' . If you guys have
any questions, feedback, etc please let me know.

Eradicator has joined the accessibility project to help with media-sound
related packages which is something I had completely overlooked. I've seen
mention on the speakup mailing list about a module that will interface
with speakup's soft_synth module to get speakup to work with speechd and
festival, have any of you looked at this yet? I asked eradicator to look
into the possibility of packaging it if it's in a useable/stable state.

As the page says, we're looking for a good kernel hacker to help with the
speakup patches. Johnm and livewire have both put a great deal of time
into getting speakup to work nicely with the gentoo kernel sources, and I
really appreciate their help there, but I would like to find someone who
knows a lot more about kernels and the speakup patches who might be
willing to work closely with them if that's possible as well.

If any of you know of someone who might like to help with this project,
feel free to pass this along.:)

Thanks!
