Hi guys, |
5 |
|
6 |
I mentioned before that we're in the process of putting together a |
7 |
Gentoo accessibility project. The project page is more or less finished, |
8 |
and you can see it here: |
9 |
'http://www.gentoo.org/proj/en/desktop/accessibility' . If you guys have |
10 |
any questions, feedback, etc please let me know. |
11 |
|
12 |
Eradicator has joined the accessibility project to help with media-sound |
13 |
related packages which is something I had completely overlooked. I've seen |
14 |
mention on the speakup mailing list about a module that will interface |
15 |
with speakup's soft_synth module to get speakup to work with speechd and |
16 |
festival, have any of you looked at this yet? I asked eradicator to look |
17 |
into the possibility of packaging it if it's in a useable/stable state. |
18 |
|
19 |
As the page says, we're looking for a good kernel hacker to help with the |
20 |
speakup patches. Johnm and livewire have both put a great deal of time |
21 |
into getting speakup to work nicely with the gentoo kernel sources, and I |
22 |
really appreciate their help there, but I would like to find someone who |
23 |
knows a lot more about kernels and the speakup patches who might be |
24 |
willing to work closely with them if that's possible as well. |
25 |
|
26 |
If any of you know of someone who might like to help with this project, |
27 |
feel free to pass this along.:) |
28 |
|
29 |
Thanks! |
