Hi all, |
2 |
|
3 |
Just downloaded the current Gentoo minimal cd |
4 |
(install-x86-minimal-20100126.iso) and tried |
5 |
gentoo speakup.synth=soft |
6 |
I still didn't get any speech, but I found "speaker-test" and "espeak |
7 |
hi" worked perfectly. I also tried this: |
8 |
find / -type f -name "speakup*" | espeak --stdin |
9 |
And the speakup kernel modules weren't in the list (although there was |
10 |
a speakup ebuild and speakupconf). Another thing I tried was |
11 |
espeakup 2> /dev/stdout | espeak --stdin |
12 |
and got "unable to open the softsynth device: no such file or |
13 |
directory." So it seems the speakup tools are there, but speakup |
14 |
itself isn't. |
15 |
|

Hope this helps somehow. |
