I edit bootstrap-prefix.sh at line 445:

	#[[ $CHOST == *-aix* ]] || myconf="${myconf} --disable-nls"

and grep bootstraped without problems.
But for bootstraping gawk I had to reverse my hack!

After this the documentation worked fine for me!
