The Prefixed Ruby Overlay featuring the ruby-1.9 ebuild for Gentoo Prefix is
now available:

I'd love to see the Ruby tests pass before we hit Jan 25, the release date
of Ruby 1.9.1. But I'm drowning in work these days, so it might not happen,
at least not unless someone helps out.
