Subject: [prefix]binutils dependency in AIX
Date: Thu, 17 Jul 2008 11:11:05 -0500

 1.1

There are a bunch of packages I'm trying to emerge that pull in binutils
as a dependency. Granted these are masked packages, so I can see why
that would be the case, but I'm thinking that I don't want binutils
pulled in. Even if I do want it pulled in, it fails.

Out of pure optimism, I'm trying to install mplayer. I doubt it will
work, but I'm going to try. I've been using --nodeps on a package by
package basis to leave out binutils but still get everything else. I'm
sure there's an easier way, but I'm not aware of it yet.
