1 Somewhat guessing here - Are you possibly trying to use an (unconfigured)
2 external mysql instance?
3 Right-click the akonadi tray icon=>configure=>server config? If it's
4 external (and that's what you want) - check you ran mysql_install_db (I
5 think the mysql ebuild eeinfo's the config steps).

7 FWIW I have the same error about timezones in
8 $HOME/.local/share/akonadi/db_data/mysql.err (using 'internal' mysql
9 instance).
