I've noticed on my amd64 systems that eix prints some nice extra |
2 |
information, such as: |
3 |
|
4 |
[I] app-portage/portage-utils |
5 |
Available versions: 0.1.20 ~0.1.21 ~0.1.22 ~0.1.23 |
6 |
Installed: 0.1.20(22:36:18 10/16/06)(python) |
7 |

8 |
Description: small and fast portage helper tools written in C |
9 |
|
10 |
(Some nice coloring and hilighting are also there which don't show up in |
11 |
emails.) |
12 |
|
13 |
My x86 systems don't show the same thing: |
14 |
|
15 |
* app-portage/portage-utils |
16 |
Available versions: 0.1.20 ~0.1.21 ~0.1.22 ~0.1.23 |
17 |
Installed: 0.1.20 |

I've been searching and racking my brain trying to find out what the |
22 |
difference is between the amd64 and x86 installs that prevent this from |
23 |
showing up on x86, to no avail. Is there a flag or setting or package |
24 |
that I've overlooked, or is this just a nice feature that's only |
25 |
available on amd64? |
