7 I use local overlays (the main one also available on GitHub) more than
8 going outside Portage. But it occurred to me that I also install
9 calibre outside of Portage, in /usr/local; it’s notorious for not
10 working when repackaged. And I do have parts of TeXLive installed by
11 Portage because they get pulled in, but if I actually want to use TeX
12 I have the real, complete TeXLive distribution installed in my home.
