I just dealt with the same issue myself.What I did was "emerge -c |

emul-linux-x86-soundlibs" (emerge -C unmerges), "echo |

"app-emulation/emul-linux-x86-soundlibs |

arts" /etc/portage/package.use" , "emerge emul-linux-x86-soundlibs" |
