29 Looking at all this, I wonder: Have you done something like (in

31 emerge =xorg-x11-7.0-r1
32 emerge =xorg-x11-6.8.2-r6

36 Portage thinks you have all the dependencies merged, but you don't
37 actually have them installed. There are brute-force ways to fix this
38 (e.g., 'emerge -pe xorg-x11' will show you much more than you need.)

40 There are probably more subtle ways to fix this, but what you have to
41 do, one way or another, is to get portage to forget about any xorg-x11
42 related packages it thinks you have installed, and do a completely fresh
43 xorg-x11 install.
