Starting around Win2K, all that is needed is a small DOS/FAT partition at |
7 |
the beginning of the disk - 128 MB or so. And a suitable primary |
8 |
partition that is a number of 1 to 4. |
9 |
|
10 |
And I think it could also be on a second drive, as long as the the |
11 |
first partition of the first drive was bootable and contained the |
12 |
Windows boot loader. |

fwiw - One of my systems has Win2K on the second partition of the primary |
15 |
drive, with Win98SE on the first partition of the primary drive and Gentoo |
16 |
on the second drive. No problems with the booting. |
