Hmm, so it is. I have gcc set ** in package.keywords, and gcc-4.5* in |

package.unmask. Perhaps he has gcc (or >=gcc-4.4 or some such) in |

package.unmask, but ~amd64 in package.keywords, which would account for |

his seeing it only when it was keyworded, tho it was still hard-masked. |
