I'm not sure, you should check about it on Google. From your description |

it seemed that something was using up cpu. Composite could be that. Also I |

think that Composite requires working opengl to use. The xorg-x11 opengl |

while working is very slow. |

You should try the eselect line and reenabling Composite. |
