GnuPG 1.9.x replaces the gpg-agent ebuild. Gpg-agent is a passphase
handler, so I don’t need to enter the passphrase every time I send an
e-mail or whatever. It was folded into the GnuPG 1.9 project long
ago. Your working GnuPG will still be version 1.4.x, or at least
that’s what happened on my system when I unmerged gpg-agent and merged
the new gnupg.
