Answering to my own mail... Just after posting I read another mail about a |

network problem on the list and tried ifconfig -a... which told me it had |

found TWO network cards. |

Looking at the board manual I found out that there was ajumper to |

enable/desable "both ports", although there is but one RJ45 port (?!) |

Anyway, I modifies /etc/conf.d/net to put my ip's on eth1, and... it just |

works. I don't understand this completely but I couls emerge nvidia and get X |

to work again. |

The problem with the world is stupidity. Not saying there should be a |

capital punishment for stupidity, but why don't we just take the |

safety labels off of everything and let the problem solve itself? |
