As mentioned elsewhere, the question is what your mobo/CPU(s) support(s). |

Note in particular that many AMD64 chips require registered memory, which |

is significantly more expensive than unregistered memory. A few of the |

newer CPUs eliminate this requirement, but I haven't been tracking close |

enough to know if they've actually shipped yet or when they started, if so. |

In any case, be sure to check whether your system requires registered |

memory or not, and be sure to get registered memory, if it does, because |

if you don't, it /won't/ work, tho due to the hardware requirements, |

nothing to do with Gentoo or Linux. |
