1 I finally got to the stage of being able to try Billy's l32 utility for
2 myself, and I found that it doesn't set the machine type, so emerge in the
3 chroot jail tries to compile 64-bit code. Thus:

6 x86_64

8 # l32 /bin/bash
9 gentoo32 ~ # uname -m
10 x86_64

12 (I've changed /etc/profile in the jail to give a distinctive prompt so that
13 I can see where I am.)

15 This happens whether I'm root or myself. I dare say I'm doing something
16 stupid, but at the moment I can't see what.
