That's horrible. For one, it means the package manager has to be able to deal with XML. For two, it's adding yet another place to go for information, which means things can very easily get out of sync. For three, developers are going to get awfully sick of having to edit metadata.xml for every bump they do... -- Ciaran McCreesh
