Those parts are actually both trivial to do, and are already in place
for the Git repos on the main CVS machine. Trickier (and in progress) is
limitation of actions inside Git, to prevent non-fast-forward merges

I'll see if I can get you a converted repo up ahead of the actual repo
being accessible to everybody else.
