I have to say that I'm not familiar with portage or ebuilds at all, I just
have an interest in build systems, toolchains and scripting in general. But
I'm not committed to this project. It's just the hack-value and fun factor of
building everything from source I'm after. I think I can help, but there's no
guarantee.
