Well, given what Gentoo is, a Linux (meta)distribution that while it |
11 |
generally does have quite good documentation (by the time it reaches |
12 |
stable, at least), it expects users to have some intellect and not be |
13 |
afraid to use it, and doesn't apologize for not doing any hand-holding |
14 |
(the typical saying, "If it breaks, you get to keep the pieces", if you |
15 |
can't/won't read them... |
16 |
|
17 |
Think about it. If you somehow mistakenly thought Gentoo was for you but |
18 |
you couldn't/wouldn't read docs, wouldn't you be trying to unsubscribe as |
19 |
well... and having problems because you /couldn't/ (or at least didn't) |
20 |
read the docs. =:^) |
21 |
|
22 |
Face it. There's a lot more folks that like the "we make what would be |
23 |
your decisions for you" Ubuntus and Macs of the world than like the Gentoos |
24 |
and the LFSs (Linux-from-Scratchs). They'll be like a beached whale on |
25 |
Gentoo, and Gentoo really doesn't make any apologies for it, being quite |
26 |
happy to point them to Ubuntu, etc, if they're that kind of user. |
