For the record, evo only uses dbus to spit out new email notifications;
the only consumer of these messages is the mail notification applet.  In
the past, running the mail notification applet has caused instability in
evo, although it seems to be working fine at the moment.   If you don't
use the mail notification applet, then it's safe to build evo without
dbus.
