GMANE provides an alternative service for most mailing lists. c.f. bug 424647
These packages are being purged as they are old, suffering a bit of bit-rot,
and the only minor package that had an optional depend on this has been
removed.
bugs like #226461 will probably haunt these packages for eternity so an early
culling is a good thing.
As usual protests accompanied by a maintainer signed metadata.xml may be
considered.
