[gentoo-dev] Simple GRUB clarification

Do you need to run grub with something like:

root (hd0,4)
setup (hd0)
quit

Whenever you upgrade the kernel like lilo? Or since it reads the /boot
partition directly do you only need to do this once (or if you move
/boot to a new device)?
