There's a new 2.4.18-pre4 kernel in Portage -- this kernel compiles |

great as long as you enable "Preemptible Kernel" under the "Processor |

type and features" section. It just needs a little tweak to compile |

without "Preemptible Kernel", which I hope to fix soon. The kernel |
| 7 |
itself seems quite solid (I've been using it for a day). It includes |
| 8 |
XFS, preempt, lock-break and ACPI patches. 2.4.18-pre4 includes |
| 9 |
bridging support that works with netfilter, so we no longer need the |
| 10 |
bridging-netfilter patch. |
