12 So, Gentoo is about choice and empowering the user, so I think that if
13 somebody wants to offer patches that allow mdev to work better without
14 adversely affecting udev use then I'd encourage devs to accept those
15 patches.

17 However, if Gentoo aims to make Gnome/KDE difficult to deploy with the
18 default configuration we'll be shooting ourselves in the feet. I
19 think a lot more people run KDE/Gnome on Gentoo than run Gentoo with
20 /usr not on root but who are unwilling to run an initramfs.
