10 It's relevant to the discussion, because glibc databases are an
11 alternative to running nscd. As a desktop user, I run nscd even on a
12 desktop without YP/NIS+, because I don't like the idea of glibc
13 functions parsing plain text files on each related query. I would use
14 glibc databases instead of nscd if that was a reliable option.
