1 I believe so. What I do is make a patch of the changes I want to make to
2 package.mask, that way I can still get all of Gentoo's package.mask
3 updates via emerge rsync (well I type emerge --clean rsync) then I patch
4 it to comment out the packages I do want (aka glibc 2.2.5)
