theres some interesting thoughts here, and theres been a bit of work
done on it, check out the cvs eclass made by Dan Armak. 

I'm not going to go in further on the cvs issues since its not a big
concern of mine at the moment, I'm struggling enough with released
applicatinos to do unreleased ones :)
