7 I run both samba and nfs (though without kerberos), and have the
8 windows issues you mentioned, and I doubt that you can use samba as a
9 root filesystem (that sounds painful at the very least), which is one
10 of the things I use it for. NFS is just a lot cleaner for linux
11 clients.
