It may be a kinda dumb question, but what's the difference between |
2 |
emerge -u world and emerge world / emerge -u gcc ans emerge gcc ? |
3 |
|

Thanks |

Subject: [gentoo-dev] changes in 2.0 profile |

15 |
Hello All |
16 |
|
17 |
just wanted to drop a note to the lists to let everyone know there are |
18 |
changes |
19 |
being made to the 2.0 profile for the 1.4 release as of right now. Anyone |
20 |
using teh 1.4_beta show now be warned, do NOT update your gcc with an emerge |
21 |
-u world or your system WILL break. |
22 |
|
23 |
If you want to make sure ti be safe you can insert a stub build for gcc to |
24 |
avoid haveing to rebuild now. |
25 |
|
26 |
emerge -i gcc-3.2 (should be right syntax but you might wanna double check). |
27 |
Not doing so and doing an emerge -u world will build the final gcc with AI |
28 |
cahnges (and uncompatible). |
29 |
|
30 |
Please be warned of this. |
31 |
|
32 |
