[gentoo-dev] caching services dependencies

Hello,
you may probably be able to help me.
I complete the install of the Gentoo but on boot the caching services 
dependencies never start. When i use #grep -r "rc.d/config /etc/init.d/* 
, I have the following result:

>/etc/init.d/serial:       if [ -e /etc/rc.d/config/serial ]
>/etc/init.d/serial:             . /etc/rc.d/config/serial
>
Could you pls be so kind to tell me if this is correct or what  i am 
missing to start.
