If you did that, as far as im concerned it wouldnt be Linux. This is how *nix is. As far as Im concerned, if you expect/want a single configuration file, you probably want something other than Linux. There are pros and cons to all things, and having an /etc directory containing multiple configuration files has worked for over 30 years. |
