is quite interesting. I went to greg's site, looked around and built |
16 |
this package. It shows up, in chapter form under /usr/share. |
17 |
I used 'elogv' to look at the directional output. Scant. So |
18 |
I'm not sure how to discover the gui/tools one would used, other |
19 |
and manually looking at the chapters one at a time. I quick look at the |
20 |
gentoo wiki revealed little how to access this or other /usr/share/ |
21 |
documents; perhaps I have missed the obvious reference pages on those |
22 |
documentation systems? |
23 |
|
24 |
Sure, it's an old doc, but it could be useful? |
25 |
I bring this up as maybe a tie-in doc to the GSoC kernel build work |
26 |
that is currently being performed. [1] Personally, with gentoo being a |
27 |
strong embedded distro, and the IoT movement bringing in lots of new |
28 |
hardware to the linux world, I think these old documents are still |
29 |
valuable for the learning the basics process, particularly related to |
30 |
small and minimized gentoo systems. |
31 |
|
32 |
As such, I am willing to help, but, first I think a comprehensive |
33 |
discussion on documentation on gentoo to tie in all the new, wonderful |
34 |
additions in the gentoo wiki, to some/most of the traditionally |
35 |
available documentation sources, is warranted. Decide what to keep and |
36 |
integrate those resoureces so that they 'flow' one to another for the |
37 |
gentoo community. There are also, many new documentation resources on |
38 |
github and similar sites, so those need to be 'integrated' too. A |
39 |
pattern or template for devs to follow possible? |
