Tabs aren't designed to keep a given number of spaces, thats entirely |

not the point. They are designed so that the number of spaces they |
| 9 |
represent can be changed, and that is useful. I can see 4 |

spaces-per-tab, and you can use 2, or whatever, without reformatting the |
| 11 |
file. |
