7 Well, if you *modify* programs that you want to put on said live cd (like adding
8 your own patches, different from the official ones found in portage) then IMO
9 you should at least give access to the patches. If you aim to create a completely
10 separate distribution, thus using your own repository, web site and portage tree
11 (for example), then it makes perfect sense to provide a full source code as well.

13 But in the case of Gentoo offshot which intends to use existing Gentoo
14 infrastucture (mirrors, sources, etc.) I'd suggest to consult the original
15 copyright (copyleft?) holders, that means Gentoo officials. Just in case.
