I was wondering, should portage update the whatis database after |

emerging a package? Because I only see a message that says the info |

pages database is being updated. Also "apropos" does not ever show |

anything except if I run "makewhatis" or "makewhatis -u" as root after |
| 7 |
running emerge. |

So, the question is, does portage update the whatis database |

everywhere but on my machine or is this functionality/feature not even |
| 11 |
in portage. Because if emerge isn't supposed to do that (doesn't do it |
| 12 |
yet) I shall definitely file a bug report with a feature request. |
