Oh -- its there, but not as root -- it is in some obscure path
(/usr/i686-pc-linux-gnu/gcc-bin/3.2/gcc).  Why was it removed from its
traditional location of /usr/bin?

gcc rebuilt for me.  gcc-3.2.1-rc6 from memory.
