Would there be any interest in such a development?
If there is sufficient interest I may be able to come up with something. Gentoo already contains (within portage) a S/390 and zSeries mainframe emulator (Hercules) which would be the perfect test/development platform. Once the basics had been ported over using the emulator there would be no reason that it shouldnt run on 'Real Iron'
