you can solve this right now, even if in a not very elegant way. For
instance, if you need glibc with NPTL support, you can use 
elibc_glibc? ( >=sys-libs/glibc-2.3
               || ( <sys-libs/glibc-2.6[nptl]
		    >=sys-libs/glibc-2.6 ) )
