I'm only a dev for a short time, but I can say that there are some points |
21 |
discussed that could have a place on -dev, but might not be compatible to the |
22 |
topic of gentoo-dev. An example of today is where Dan Armak asked other |
23 |
developers (After I came to him with the question) what to do with the many |
24 |
bugs that in some way or another involve gcc failures. Either segfaults |
25 |
during the build process or internal compiler errors etc. Those bugs are a |
26 |
problem as they tend to stay open a lot, and most of the time never get to a |
27 |
satisfactory conclusion (After being silent a long time they are marked |
28 |
INVALID). There is nothing private about it. |
29 |
|
30 |
Another point why I believe core is used is that gentoo-dev has a rather high |
31 |
trafic and is les read by developers. Often people ask a question on core to |
32 |
get a fast answer, but want it to be more solid than IRC. |

ps. be assured that this topic is also discussed on core and that you are |

being heard |
