I just found out about gentoo ..... installed it the same day ... and 
love it ..... only i have/had the same problem as a friend of my
I have a laptop and use a pcmcia ethernet card
i followed the install manual and when i rebooted i cant start my 
network card....
i didn't get the cardmrg on my system ..... so i need the packets fore 
thet .....
i m rebooring with the cd and then i'll start my network card en chroot 
and stuff and then i'll get it but pleas put it in the manual ;)
