Subject: Xaw3d ebuild not working
Date: Thu Oct 11 18:50:01 2001
Hello

When emerging gv Xaw3d is included as depend. It seems to build allright
but then the gv-ebuild fails on an '-lXaw3d'-statement.

On closer inspection one finds that /usr/X11R6/lib contains only two
libXaw3d... -links to a nonexistent libXaw3d.so.7.
If one then inspects the output of the Xaw3d-ebuild more closely one
sees that libXaw3d.so.6 and .6.1 are built just to be removed after the
compile (?).
The ebuild then contains an 'dolib.so libXaw3d.so.7.0' (of which I'm not
quite sure what it does...) that complains but does not die...
Then the two dead links are created and the ebuild completes successfully.
But no working Xaw3d -> no working gv :(

is someone else getting this too?

thanks in advance

Tibor Rudas
