10 I just noticed that FEATURES="test" is enabled by default in the
11 developer profile, with some other features that make portage more strict.

16 What would you think about better advocating usage of the developer
17 profile among developers? Looks like many problems would disappear
18 simply because the maintainer of a given package would hit the problem
19 first (and fix it before it gets into portage).
