21 I did this once with a 2.2.16 kernel for rc1 or rc2, then we switched to 2.4 and

23 handmade include did not work with it.
24 But I found a nice kernel patch ( http://lpp.FreeLords.org ), that replaces the
25 whole boot-process witha graphic and a statusbar/line.
26 All output from star-scripts can be passed to the statusbar via /proc/progress.
27 You redirect all other output to another console so no info gets lost during
28 boot.
