Your example shows that .live ebuilds "fix" different issue. What you
are suggesting are not live ebuilds but automation for snapshot
creation. And I don't see why you need .live ebuilds for this. Just
create ffmpeg-0.4.9_pre1235.ebuild and then increment number in _pre
part, create snapshot and be done (btw, automation of snapshot creation
was already discussed as pkg_maint() or maint_...(); bug 185567).
